While You Were Away...
I'm sure that my husband feels a bit apprehensive when I start my sentence this way after picking him up from the airport. He doesn't know what to expect... Plus he is worrying about the slight possibility that he won't actually notice what I have done while he was away. My typical question is when we arrive home, "Do you notice anything different here?"
HOMEGARDEN

October 2026:
We all have our set of skills and talents. I'm wholeheartedly for everyone doing whatever they do best at home - or anywhere. There is absolutely no "gender wars" at our house; no female or male jobs; whoever gets the job done, will do it.
I tend to do projects and "experiments" while I'm home alone. By now, my husband has fortunately learned to trust my decision making. There won't be any eccentric wall color in the living room or dreadful tiles in the primary bath. Experimenting is undoubtedly "trial and error" type of a thing, but I usually land on my feet in the end. Any person in décor business would say that their home is their testing space, laboratory.
Fall is a wonderful time to enjoy nature's abundant colors and incorporate them inside. This year I'm shying away from the typical pumpkin-maple leaf theme, though. Just feeling a bit tired of it. Accessories with warmer colors and some candles around the home are enough for our household.
Enjoy October and get ready for cooler days ahead!
